CTS-V is Back for 2016 With 640 Horsepower

Cadillac CTS-V

In 2004, Cadillac came out with their very inconspicuous V-Series Cadillac. Not too many people knew too much about it until it started breaking records as the fastest luxury sports sedan in the world. Breaking records at places like Nürburgring raceway and on the quarter-mile made it clear it was not just a prettier version of the CTS.

Every since the third-generation CTS was introduced in 2013 as a 2014 model, we have yet to see a V-Series Cadillac. But after a 2-year hiatus, Cadillac has the new generation CTS-V ready to be introduced to the world at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. It will be introduced as a 2016 model, and with all of the speculation that surrounded it for most of 2014, a drivetrain is now confirmed.

For a long time there were rumors of a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V-6 and probably a lot of hope for one from some people as that would make the Cadillac a quiet, quick little sedan. But Cadillac decided to go with the sure bet, and you can't get much more sure than the 640-hp, 6.4-liter supercharged, LT4 V-8 from the 2015 Corvette ZO6.

This may be a little disappointing to some GM enthusiasts. The powerful Corvette motor will be mated to the very well-respected eight-speed 8L90E automatic transmission. But unlike years in the past, there will be no manual transmission offered this time around.

What gives this Cadillac a smooth ride and the ability to hit corners like a racecar is the Magnetic Ride Suspension that GM uses on all of their performance vehicles. Michelin Pilot Super Sports with 9.5-inch wide tires in the front and 10-inch tires in the back also add some help. Slowing the Cadillac down are Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers in the front and four in the back.

Just like last time, the world-famous RECARO racing seats will fill the front seat area. Special badges, stitching, and trim will be placed all around the vehicle to let everyone know this is not just your average Cadillac. A big mesh front grille, special ventilated hood, rims and much more will help this Cadillac CTS-V standout in the crowd. And no worries, all standard CTS features including technology like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will carry over to the powerhouse V-Series Cadillac. Look for its unveiling this January in Detroit at the North American Auto Show.

All New Cadillac LTS RWD -- A Much More High-End Version for Cadillac in 2015

The Flagship RWD Cadillac LTS Will Go Into Production Next Year

Although car lovers and GM lovers are already lucky enough to have beautiful high-tech Cadillacs to choose from, GM announces they will began building an even more top-end Cadillac for 2015.

The assembly of these new Cadillac cars will be taking place at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. It will be a rear-wheel drive vehicle and is expected to make its first debut sometime in the first half of the 2015 year.

The Hamtramck plant borders on Detroit and Hamtramck. As of now the plant produces the Opel Ampera, the Chevrolet Impala and the Cadillac ELR, and a luxury version of the Volt.

This is a project that GM is throwing $384 million at as an investment. Let's just hope after a rough Bankruptcy, they're not taking on more than they can chew. They have some very sweet sports and luxury cars, but let's face it, they're not the type of vehicles that keep the doors flying open at the dealerships. They may keep us looking at them on a computer screen or in a magazine, but the Average Joe is usually looking for something a little more practical.

The video was not supposed to be released so soon, but it's nice to see the 2015 Cadillac ATS looking good. The front end is sleek looking and the whole car just has a nice feel to it.

With a nice sticker price on this Cadillac, GM should enjoy a nice amount of these cars being sold, maybe even steeling some customers from some of their competitors. And if there is one thing for sure, with everything going on with GM right now, they can use the business.

2015 Cadillac Escalade: Price Tag Starting at $72,690

The new 2015 Cadillac Escalade is undoubtedly the most luxurious SUV GM has produced. Boasting 420hp and 460lb.-ft. of torque, the almost 3 ton sled has plenty of get up and go. Gas mileage will still suffer a little bit, but a cylinder deactivation system will help by shutting down 4 cylinders while at a cruising speed.

Horsepower is always great, but the real story here is the interior. The CUE (Cadillac User Experience) system that is impacted on all other Cadillacs will now be implicated on the Escalade. This system will allow you to adjust everything from your Bose radio system and climate controls all the way to the suspension modes. As the driver, you will enjoy a 12.3" digital gauge cluster that can be altered in four different ways to best suit the driver.

When it comes to space, the front seat passengers will enjoy 4 more inches in legroom and 1.5 more inches in headroom. For the first time second row passengers will enjoy relining, heated seats. The third row won't get that treatment, but it does have a motorized function allowing it to fold up-and-down in just four seconds.

Cadillac also offers for the first time a standard Magnetic-Ride Control system. It's world class technology was brought about by Ferrari and first tested on the ZR1's, and is now a standard on just about all of GM's high-end vehicles.

The outside looks as up-to-date as the inside. New stylish body-lines all the way around. The headlights and taillights are all LED equipped and have glow in the dark Cadillac emblems emulated in them.

The ideal behind this Cadillac Escalade is to take back the authority in the luxury SUV market, and with the nice price tag, top notch technology and the new styling, they have a chance to do just that.

Other Highlights
20" rims (optioned 22" rims)
Sound Proofing Technology for a Quieter Ride
Hands Free Life Gate
LED Interior Lights
Back Seat Entertainment System
Cut-and-Sewn Stitching and Four Different Wood Grain Choices

2014 Cadillac CTS is Put to the Test at Nürburgring

One of the Toughest Tracks in the World and Cadillac Aces it.

Cadillac validated its brand-new 2014 CTS midsize luxury sedan and power-packed CTS Vsport at the world’s most-demanding test track – Germany’s Nürburgring – and recorded lap times to enhance the nameplate’s reputation as a driver’s car.

Notably, the 2014 CTS Vsport, featuring Cadillac’s first  Twin-Turbo engine and eight-speed transmission, recorded a lap time of 8:14.10, almost six seconds faster than the first generation CTS-V recorded 10 years ago with a larger V-8 engine.

Nürburgring validation certified that all CTS suspension packages are capable of handling the extreme conditions and unlimited speeds of Autobahn driving. CTS development included Autobahn and track calibrations of the steering system, shock absorbers, chassis controls and powertrain cooling.
“The Nürburgring’s extreme conditions allow us to push cars to the limits of stability, steering, braking, ride and handling,” said Dave Leone, CTS executive chief engineer, Performance Luxury Vehicles. “The new CTS models had a lot to live up to considering the nameplate’s history of outstanding performance, and we were not disappointed.”

Measuring 12.9 miles (20.8 km) and including some 154 turns, the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife (“north loop”) is widely considered the world’s most-demanding course for vehicle validation. Cadillac vehicle dynamics performance engineer Kevin Zelenka and Jeff Grabowski drove full production models of CTS and CTS Vsport with no performance modifications, validating all-new 2014 CTS sedan that goes on sale this fall.

“The new CTS was an absolute riot to drive on the Ring,” said Zelenka. “It’s more athletic and refined, and the Vsport proved extremely capable. If a car performs well on the Ring, it will perform well on any road in the world.”

The CTS has been the centerpiece of Cadillac’s portfolio for more than a decade. The third-generation CTS is one inch lower, five inches longer and more than 200 pounds lighter than its predecessor. The new car also has lower curb weight, greater structural stiffness and more horsepower than its primary competitors.
The all-new CTS is engineered from the ground up to deliver a driving experience that combines sport-tuned handling with world-class comfort. Its segment-exclusive Magnetic Ride Control and electronic limited slip differential constantly monitor rear-wheel rotation to ensure optimal handling in a variety of road conditions.
The 2014 CTS standard model will start at $46,025, including $925 destination. Three collections of option packages – Luxury, Performance and Premium – will be offered with either the 2.0T turbocharged four cylinder or 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine in either rear- or all-wheel drive. The CTS Vsport model starts at $59,995, including $925 destination, and features the new Cadillac Twin-Turbo 3.6L V6 (420 hp) in RWD only with an eight-speed transmission.

2015 Cadillac Escalade

Image result for 2018 escalade

The Cadillac division of General Motors' has announced that it will unveil its next-generation Escalade SUV in New York City on October 7, it will be going on sale in 2014 as a 2015 model. According to Auto Blog who's reporters have caught glimpses of the new Cadillac, the Escalade is anticipated to have a much more aggressive and more flashy look than that of its current model. It will have longer lines, thin headlines and an egg-crate grill, but the inside is where the real upgrades are expected to take place.

The powertrain is expected to go a little bit like this: At launch, a 6.2-liter V-8, rated at roughly 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque should be offered. But you can expect more powertrain options to be offered further down the road.

When it comes to the interior it looks like the new cabin is where Cadillac will set itself apart as a luxury brand. The Escalade boast a CUE infotainment system accessorized with a large touch screen and roomy interior, like always, but this time they will implicate a much needed electronically motorized 3rd row.

Not unveiling the Escalade at the Texas State Fair is the first time for a vehicle of it's kind, but GM seems confident that New York City is the place that is most appropriate for the launch when considering the Cadillac’s customary consumer base. And that clientele seems to be pretty happy with what the Cadillac has had to offer so far, demonstrated by the fact that Escalade sales are only down 5 percent this year even though consumers are aware that a new model will soon be launched.

Despite the current Escalade debuting back in March 2006, sales for the SUV, including its extended-length ESV and pickup-version EXT variants, have stayed roughly flat in 2013. But Cadillac has still sold more than 12,500 Escalades through July, or nearly as many as the Infiniti QX56/QX80 and Land Rover Range Rover combined. Escalade sales are nearly triple the also-aging Lincoln Navigator, which at one point was its most direct competitor. The sales lead may eventually diminish as the Escalade EXT and the Chevrolet Avalanche sibling won't likely return . Through July, the EXT still accounted for 10.6% of all Escalade sales.

Like Ford, now that the U.S. automaker has been able to resurrect such significant success with its fuel-efficient compact cars and full-sized pick-up turcks, GM is ready to turn its attention to its luxury brands and make sure its recent progress is sustainable across the board. The Cadillac ELR is also poised to go on sale in early 2014, and reflects the brand’s future design strategy with its sleek lines, aggressive stance, and a crisp, modern look. The ELR is also a hybrid vehicle and features a 1.4-litre engine, good for about 84 horsepower, and an electric motor that provides its 295 pound-feet of torque.
